This is a slideshow made of scanned images of 25 years of wedded life and precious memories, which was played at a "surprise party" for my son and daughter-in-law's 25th Wedding Anniversary. Most images were taken by family members with point and shoot film cameras, but some professional portraits were made by Sam Jamasji, a renowned wedding-photographer in Karachi, Pakistan, during March, 1986!

Whew! This year the 10.10.10. GMT moment fell at 3:10 A.M. in my part of the world which meant a moment of deep sleep... no way I could get up, go out and shoot! So I did a little preparation to participate... wrote my thoughts on a piece of paper with 'peace' sign and taped it to the page on my laptop screen where my time (U.S.A.- California - Los Angeles) shown is 3:10 A.M, put the alarm and went to sleep with my Olymus camera ready for the shot...and oh yes, I added a flower and a green leaf for color in the middle of the night! Peace to All.

What a sad news of the passing away of Nevada's Former Governor, Kenny Guinn! My heartfelt and deepest condolences to his wife Dema Guinn and his family. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

I hava a very pleasant personal experience and a cherished memory of the day I and my friend, Claudette Bohannon, met them early morning of 8/9/2004 in Carson City while hovering around the Governor's Mansion with our cameras in hand...Mrs. Guinn approached us, shook hands with us and upon hearing of our interest to take their pictures, she went to the vehicle where the Governor was poised to leave, and lo and behold! he was so gracious to come to us and let us photograph them right there. I was so happy and excited and humbled by his graciousness as I could never have expected such an experience in any other country....ONLY IN AMERICA!

Photos of Thomas Myers, Media Technologies Department Chair, known as Tom Myers to his friends and students at the CSN, College of Southern Nevada.A Fine person and an Excellent teacher / instructor / photographer, who left this earth for his heavenly abode in the eternal world. He is greatly missed.I feel very fortunate to have had an opportunity to learn from him at the beginning of my interest in photography when I attended several classes at the CSN that helped me bridge the gap between my utter ignorance of photography and the knowledge that I gained in the subject and reached the stage when I had enough courage to enter my work in galleries and Fine Art Exhibits.In fact I have to admit that it was Tom Myer's teaching that opened my eyes to see and photograph Nature in all its aspects, from scenic vistas to close-ups of flowers and macros of insects.I was geatly encouraged when Tom Myers along with Edie Chiarappa, Media Technlogies Chair at the time, attended my first exhibit at the grand opening of the Old Town Gallery in downtown Henderson, where these photos were taken.Little did I know that I will have to use these pictures in his memorium.

This is a composite of two images, one taken at sunrise and the other taken during last year's (2008) Fireworks Extravaganza from the rooftops of Las Vegas Strip Hotels, fired at the stroke of midnight, to welcome the New Year which could be seen from miles away, (unfortunately, this spectacle will not be witnessed this year due to the regulatory changes... the firing locations are being changed to individual parking lots instead of the rooftops to welcome the new year 2009)...
I made this card In memory of the previous years' spectacular shows of Las Vegas New Year Fireworks...also to express my feelings at the End of a year and the Dawn of a New Day...bringing new hopes and aspirations for better times to come! My best wishes to all.HAPPY NEW YEAR.

The harvest moon is the moon at and about the period of fullness that is nearest to the autumnal equinox. - Dictionary.com

The Harvest moon is a legend in Norse mythology, it is said to be the most powerful of the Moons granting Loki's blessing for a strong harvest and plenty. The Harvest moon is often mistaken for the modern day Hunter's moon.
In the legend of the Harvest moon, it is said that all full moons have their own special characteristics based primarily on the whereabouts of the ecliptic in the sky at the time of year that these moons are visible. The full moons of September, October and November as seen from the northern hemisphere - which correspond to the full moons of March, April and May as seen from the southern hemisphere - are well known in the folklore of the sky. All full moons rise around the time of sunset. However, although in general the moon rises about 50 minutes later each day, as it moves in orbit around Earth, the Harvest Moon and Hunter's Moon are special, because around the time of these full moons, the time difference between moonrise on successive evenings is shorter than usual. In other words, the moon rises approximately 30 minutes later, from one night to the next, as seen from about 40 degrees N. or S. latitude, for several evenings around the full Hunter's or Harvest Moons. Thus there is no long period of darkness between sunset and moonrise around the time following these full moons. In times past this feature of these autumn moons was said to help farmers working to bring in their crops (or, in the case of the Hunter's Moon, hunters tracking their prey). They could continue being productive by moonlight even after the sun had set. Hence the name Harvest (or Hunter's) Moon
