Eid Mubarak to all friends, family, patrons and viewers

Wishing Eid Mubarak to my family and friends on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha or Feast of Sacrifice, celebrated by Muslims all around the globe as a commemoration of Prophet Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son for God.
(This photograph of Mehfil-e-Sema' created by photographing small 5 inch figurines/models and then created this card)

Happy Thanksgiving to All...

Mehfil-e-Sema' - A Simulated Scene, created with tiny sculptures of Whirling Darweshes...

After I posted the "YouTube - MAWLANA JALALUDDIN RUMI" video on my blog on October 22, 2009, link shown below, I was inspired to photograph the tiny sculptures/porcelain figurines of the Darweshes (4 pieces gifted to me by a friend, three sitting, one whirling), and digitally created this scene, in five renditions, simulating the Mehfil-e-Sema'... sharing it here with the viewers:

Public Art Poster Project: "The Bus Stops Here"

With reference to my earlier post of May 3, 2009, the art posters are beginning to appear at the bus shelters around town (Las Vegas & Henderson). Needless to say that my photograph, titled "Winter Reflections", is among these posters. Here is the full story about the Friends of Winchester Public Art Committee in Whitney View, taking up much of the front cover with the four "The Bus Stops Here" art works with a major continuation of the story on page three with a photo of the centennial mural: http://www.viewnews.com/2009/VIEW-Jul-14-Tue-2009/whitney/29860085.html

Public Art Poster Project: "The Bus Stops Here"

I am thrilled that my photograph "Winter Reflections" has been selected by Clark County Parks and Recreation and the Friends of Winchester Park Public Art Committee, as one of four artworks by four artists, to be displayed on RTC bus shelters throughout the valley as part of "The Bus Stops Here" public art poster project, to showcase Clark County artists and place art in our streetscapes.
